Originally a cottage, it was converted into a playhouse in 1985 thanks to the generosity of Clare Rose. The playhouse serves as a teaching facility for the university's theater courses and provides a platform for young actors to hone their skills. Throughout the year, the stage hosts a variety of performances including children's theater, storytelling, theater for the deaf, and showcases for local playwrights and poets. In addition to educational and community theater productions, the playhouse also offers dinner and show packages in partnership with Harbor Crab restaurant. Groups can enjoy a special rate for 20 or more attendees.
