Recently revitalized, Kanazawa Island now features new sidewalks and lush tree plantings, enhancing its natural beauty and making it an even more inviting escape. The island, accessible via a charming footbridge adjacent to Wilkeson Quad, boasts a circular sidewalk that wraps around its quarter-acre expanse. This path, newly narrowed and set back from the shoreline to prevent erosion, is crafted from a buckwheat exposed aggregate that harmonizes with the island's tranquil surroundings. As you stroll along the path, you'll be greeted by a delightful array of 12 flowering trees, including eastern redbuds, which bloom with pink flowers reminiscent of cherry blossoms in the spring.
