A native of New York City, Dr. Prufer's unique journey began with a cum laude degree in music from New York University, followed by an MA and MD from the Boston University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. Dr. Prufer completed his general surgery internship and otolaryngology residency at SUNY Downstate and Long Island College Hospital.
