Ellen's love for railroads is a tribute to her father, Leon, a track maintenance mechanic whose career brought their family from Scranton, PA, to the bustling rail yards of Lackawanna, NY.

"In town for the weekend and came here for a run. I parked in the lot of the store next to the trailhead (seemed like the only option?). The southern part of the path isn't paved -- just mowed down weeds and some gravel -- and it only goes out about a mile. Northern part is paved and was where there were other people walking/running."
