The trail follows an old road before branching off into a gentle ascent up the mountain. With no overly steep portions, hikers will still gain 1,259 feet in elevation to reach a height of 2,347 feet above sea level. Starting from Dacy Clearing Road in the Lake George Wild Forest, the trail leads to the open rocky top of Sleeping Beauty, offering a panoramic view of the southern portion of Lake George. From this vantage point, visitors can see islands, other mountains, and the opposite side of the lake.
