"I just spent my first weekend at Stony Creek Farmstead. If you’re looking for a place to unplug and relax THIS IS IT! The drive from the Philly suburbs was picturesque. Upon arrival I felt like a member of the family, being greeted by staff and two friendly pups. The farm grounds and animals made me feel like I walked into a storybook. The cabins were a truly unique experience. Everything was prepared and clean for arrival, and we even had a welcome basket ready with fresh produce and meats from the farm. Kate and Dan have done a fantastic job orchestrating a comfortable stay. I HIGHLY recommend pizza night! I’m going to have a hard time finding a better pie. Kate’s farm tour was fun and educational, and really gives you a glimpse into all the hard work that goes towards running a working farm. The stars at night were breathtaking. Overall, this was a one of a kind experience I will never forget. I made memories with friends and family that will last a lifetime! This place and the people running it are truly something special. If you are considering a stay a Stony Creek…DO IT! I will certainly be back :)"
"This review is only regarding the Saturday night pizza night. We heard about the farm and wanted to check it out. It’s as great as the other reviews say. A little slice of New York heaven. The only issue is that we got very unlucky for the meal. Although we reserved a spot and paid deposit, got there at 6:30 and ordered right away, we got the wrong pizza and were told they were out of dough. They also ran out of salad. The staff was apologetic but we felt so out of the loop and forgotten. People had ordered long after us, and there didn’t seem to be an issue. By the time we got what we thought would be our first round (but ended up being our only round) of food, most people had long finished their meals and were leaving. Our daughter was very hungry by the time pizza did come. Staff told us people showed up without reservations and they didn’t have enough food (as far as I know though, we were the only ones who didn’t get enough). The people were lovely. Setting perfect. But that was definitely one of the more disappointing dining situations I’ve had in a while. We didn’t make a fuss, just stated the obvious - that it was really disappointing - paid the full amount and tipped full because the staff really was nice about it. But it might have been nice for them to offer a discount seeing as how we barely got enough to eat and it was the wrong thing. Just a suggestion. We’d love to try again, but beware that this happens! Show up right at 5:30. Order right away, and order extra, I suppose!"
"Our family loves Stony Creek Farm! It's always incredibly beautiful and relaxing, perfect for a family with varying takes on camping (comfy beds, running water, and lovely showers combined with the being surrounded by nature and cozying up in a *large* tent). Over the course of a fall weekend, we made apple cider donuts in the farm kitchen, helped move the pasture for the sheep, collected and ate delicious eggs, befriended several chickens - including one who kept breaking into our tent! - and fed the pigs. It's always a delight to visit and we'll definitely be back!"
"I wanted to share an updated review of Stony Creek. We've been coming here for at least 7 years now- a few years, we came twice. It's become a tradition that our whole family and friend group looks forward to every single year. We've been here every month they're open- we've been the first and last guests of the season. There's something new every time we're here - whether it's newborn calfs in the spring, swimming in the pond in the summer or fall foliage and roaring fireplaces in the autumn. The kids get to camp and be free range all weekend long while adults can choose to chase them or sit in the tent staring off to nowhere. The Marsiglios are the most welcoming, outgoing, and tireless working people we've ever met and they take sustainable farming and education seriously- my kids ALWAYS learn SOMETHING there- how tadpoles becomes frogs as 3 year olds or the benefits of rotational farming as 10 year olds. Pizza night is always a hit and even on bad weather days, you won't have a bad time at the farm."
"Stony Creek Farmstead is magical! Our family has been spending a weekend there for the past two years and have already booked our return for this summer. Kate and her family are the most welcoming hosts, and their farm is the perfect space for kids to roam and play. Our daughter loves meeting the animals, splashing in the little creek, and sleeping in the hidden cabinet bed of the tent. Saturday pizza nights are especially beautiful with delicious food, vibrant sunsets, and a big fire for roasting marshmallows. My favorite part might be waking up early to find the farm dogs sleeping outside the tent and walking down to pick up a basket of fresh bread, eggs and other farm goodies. I can’t wait to return!"
