Beacon's Closet Park Slope

"This is my fave Beacon's location, and although they are more pricey in comparison to other shops nearby, I know I'll always find something fun and quality here. I can never try on their sunglasses without buying another pair."

"Probably the worst Beacon’s I’ve been to. The selling staff is horribly rude. I asked for them to clarify what they are looking for in selling and they just shrugged. When they took next to none of my high quality, on trend, and in season clothing (nbd that’s how it goes with selling) they said I can leave things for donations. Apparently the “donations” are to themselves. I saw a few of them sticking my items out of the donation bins away for themselves. This tracks because what clothes do make it on to the floor are such low quality. Many are dirty and have no rhyme or reason. The place is disorganized. I found literally damaged items on the racks, multiple. To add insult to injury, what other black reviewers have said is correct. I was followed around the store and noticed I was constantly getting stared at by the staff. No other customer in there was receiving that treatment. There are so many other thrift stores in the area that are just way better. The buyers at Buffalo Exchange are so nice. I’ve also had great luck with selling my high end items at other consignment shops in the area. Avoid this spot at all costs."

"Please read this honest review from someone who has had multiple experiences coming here. I have been coming here to sell clothes for a couple of years now, some times with more success than others, but they would ALWAYS take at least 1 or 2 things. But this past Monday I went and it was the most horrific experience I’ve had and I will never be going back. I had 2 full bags of clothes which contained several pairs of nice Everlane jeans and tops, madewell shirts, an Outdoor Voices shirt, a Uniqlo sweater and more. A lot of items in great condition. I felt really good about this batch. I was the first person in line to drop my things off and I was told that the wait would be 25 minutes. I went to browse the store and after about 10 minutes (which is most definitely not enough time to properly go through the amount of clothes I had), I saw my bags were full back on the shelf. I went to get my receipt for my sale and was told in the rudest tone “we couldn’t take any items today but thanks so much for coming in.” I was floored. I immediately asked for a second opinion and to speak to a manager. I was told no and that’s “not how that works here.” Clearly the person doing my bags was very inexperienced and didn’t know how to do her job. I was pretty furious. I recommend not coming here. I won’t be ever again. What a scam and people who ultimately don’t know what they’re doing. Save your time and go elsewhere."

"The worst thrift store ever. The employee is so rude. She throw clothes on the floor. Their clothes are very old, worn, overpriced and smelly. The store is overpriced. I am sure I won’t go back again."
