"We just made a sium/70th birthday party in the “back room” of Essen on Coney. Everything was PERFECT! The service was great (kudos to Eric & Juliani) the food outstanding! They worked with me on the menu, adding, (not even exchanging!) when we discussed the different options. Everyone who came was very impressed with how beautiful and tasteful the whole evening was. "My sister and I visited this deli on June 5th - first time back in Brooklyn since 1984. We had a split potato knish with the complimentary corned beef, we shared a brisket sandwich and the pickles were to die for."
"Waiters had a nasty, arrogant attitude. Brisket was DRY and flavorless. Food came out plate by plate so eating together at the same time didn't happen. Place is empty ( 2 pm on a Wednesday) so no reason for terrible service! Never took a drink order , had to ask twice . This place is highly overrated. Complete waste of time and money. They put a mandatory 20% service charge for service that isn't worth a dime. Disgusting business practice. If an establishment puts a mandatory service charge the service should be impeccable."
