Motel 6 Elmsford, NY - White Plains

"I was renting a room for my son for 1 night so he think over our house rules. I used mt American Express to pay, and the manager AMANDA said the chip didn't work. I said well in other stores they just punch in the numbers, she then said I had a bad attitude and they would not be renting me a room. Really? AMANDA cost them $135 because she is a vile person! Some manager she is....lol. I literally went down the street, Elaine was lovely and said the knew AMANDA!!! AVOID AMANDA DO NOT GO"

"Two(2) weeks there and didn't even get a towel change ...Left the dirty towels on the floor, they spread the bed and left them there."

"Because of the deceiving review left by Gary, I was inclined to make the mistake of booking a room at this motel. The blanket looked like it had been using as an ashtray in its past life, having holes all over it. The heater wasn’t working, and the cold air was able to access my body through the holes on the blanket. I’m surprised the shower had hot water. I had to inspect my belongings to make sure bed bugs didn’t leave with me. -10/10"

"Good no-frills motel 20 miles north of New York City. Stayed here 1 night, would stay here again. Had to visit northern Manhattan, wanted economical place to stay with our dog and parking for our car. Motel 6 to the rescue! Rooms are basic but fixed up: no mini-fridge, microwave, breakfast or hair dryer. Windows are relatively new double-hung type that open and have screens, which is nice for fresh air. No bathroom exhaust fan but has a window that opens. Comfortable bed, no smell in room (which my spouse is sensitive to). Only glitch was the hot water: we both had hot showers, but at the sink the hot water was there then gone then back again. E.g. turn hot water on, some comes out then it changes to room temperature; let it run 2-3 minutes and it's still not hot. Shut off, try a few minutes later, and eventually the hot water comes back. Minus 1 star for unsteady hot water but plus 1 star for windows with screens that open. Also they need an intercom system for the front desk, which is protected by thick glass that is nearly soundproof. The front desk person was friendly enough but it was very difficult to communicate when I was checking in."

"It's a 2-star establishment. You get what you pay for. The wifi is weak. Only good for emails and light web browsing, not streaming (not even YouTube). The sink in our room drained veryyyyy slowly. The stopper was stuck so, yeah... yuck! Staff was M.I.A. at the front desk. Only a pain in the "A" during check-in. Checking out was even better. The maid knocked twice, "house keeping", proceeds to swipe her key card and enter our room while we're still in bed... and then proceed to have a conversation with us about the checkout time while still piercing through the open door. I don't care... I lost over 70lbs. She can look, but CLOSE THE DOOR. However, the room was a smoking room (420), staff were friendly and helpful when available, shower gets nice and hot, pet friendly, kids stay free.... I'd stay here again."
