Steamboat Square is a diverse community located at 220 Green Street in Albany, New York. The institution consists of multiple buildings, including a high rise with 306 units that underwent extensive renovations in the mid 1980's. The ground floors of the buildings offer various resident support services such as day care, WIC, and resident employment development. In recent years, the buildings have been upgraded with new boilers, toilets, lighting, and energy-efficient appliances. Additionally, there are 16 family townhouses with individual entrances, ensuring a comfortable living environment for residents. Adjacent to the high rises are six buildings with 44 units known as Steamboat Square Townhouses. These units have seen updates to the siding, roofs, exterior doors, and kitchens, with sprinkler systems installed for added safety in 2001.
