While Amanda's House does not provide healthcare services, it offers comfortable room and board accommodations for those who can live independently. Security is available 24 hours a day, and guests are asked to adhere to house rules for the safety of all occupants. The institution was established in memory of Amanda Rose Cafaro, a young girl who battled acute myelogenous leukemia. After her passing, the community came together to create Amanda's House as a memorial to her and a place of support for others in need. The house underwent renovations in 2001 through the efforts of volunteers and donations, and has since provided a home for hundreds of guests each year.
