Bird of prey observation in Mount Kisco, New York

The Nature Conservancy is located at 265 Chestnut Ridge Road in Mount Kisco, New York, United States. This institution was founded in 1954 when Mrs. Butler donated 225 acres of land in honor of her husband, making it the organization's first donated preserve and the first wildlife refuge in the town of Bedford. Over the years, the preserve has grown in size through additional donations and purchases. The rugged outcrops and boulder-strewn hills of this land provide a solid foundation for deciduous forests, flowing streams, and swamps teeming with flora and fauna. Visitors flock to the preserve each fall to observe migrating birds of prey, with interpretive materials available to help identify the various species passing overhead.
