The museum features artifacts on three floors, an exhibit building outside, an Annex at the Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fairgrounds, and an authentic one-room schoolhouse. The collection at the museum was built from local donations, showcasing unique items that connect us to the people of the past. The main building, a former Victorian home known as the Presbyterian Manse, was purchased by the Historical Association in 1974 and opened as a museum in 1976. It was placed on the National Historical Registry in 2015.
