Enhancements at the preserve include a welcome shed, rain garden, purple martin houses, wildlife viewing platform, osprey platform with streaming camera, benches, interpretive signs, and an 80-foot bird blind. The one-mile trail loops from the entrance through the wetland to the beachfront and back, with a State Park Connection Trail linking to Cape May Point State Park. The Nature Conservancy owns and manages the preserve, which was restored to natural harmony in 2007 after years of degradation due to erosion and invasive species.
