Abraham Clark Memorial House
● OpenWelcome to the Abraham Clark Memorial House, a historic gem nestled in the heart of Roselle, New Jersey. Located at 101 West 9th Avenue, this site is a tribute to Abraham Clark, a courageous New Jersey signer of the Declaration of Independence. Born on February 15, 1726, in what is now Roselle, Clark was an influential surveyor and scholar of common law who, alongside his wife Sarah, raised ten children in their original farmhouse built in 1705. Though the original house was lost to a fire in 1900, a faithful replica was constructed in 1941, preserving the essence of Clark's legacy. Designed based on old photographs and historical insights, the house stands on land donated by Mr. William M. Crane, a piece of the original Clark Farm from the 18th century. The current site is just a stone's throw from where the original farmhouse once stood, near historic Springfield Road, now known as Crane Street and Wheatsheaf Road.
