It has also served as a hotel, mansion, retirement home, boarding house, and now a museum. As the only remaining official royal governor's mansion in the original 13 colonies, The Proprietary House offers visitors a unique glimpse into colonial American history. Operated by the non-profit Proprietary House Association, the museum hosts guided tours, lectures, concerts, storytelling events, ghost tours, and teas for the community to enjoy.
