It also serves as a practice facility for baseball and softball teams. Originally an all-grass field, Joanne Merrill Field was upgraded with "sprint turf" before the 2009-10 academic year. The most recent addition to the facility is the Athletics Pavilion, known as the Linda Robinson Pavilion, which opened in the fall of 2019.
