Copper Village Museum & Art, located at 401 East Commercial Avenue in Anaconda, Montana, is a unique institution that serves as an art gallery, museum, and tourist attraction. Founded in 1971 by Sister Joeann Daley, a high school art teacher, and Anaconda residents, the institution was created as a cultural center and has since evolved into a first-class art gallery. With funding from the county and the Montana Arts Council, as well as support from over two hundred volunteers, Copper Village Museum and Art Center has grown to become a hub for preserving and showcasing the history of Deer Lodge County. The institution offers a variety of programs and events, including the popular Art in Washoe Park show, featuring over 80 juried art and craft booths, ethnic foods, and professional entertainment.
