"I would give 5 stars but my credit card magically disappeared after paying for my meal. Literally nowhere to be found. I set it on the table after paying then gave cash tip. After waitress picks up dishes from table my card vanished. I gotta give it to her, she was so smooth with it. I canceled it immediately…while I was still there. I’m disappointed because I left her $20 tip on an $39 bill and my guy also left her $20 tip. Excellent dinner but not worth “losing” your card afterwards. So if I dine again, I’ll never set my card down. Ever. *not sure how to respond directly to the reply but I will say this…I’m not sure how it was found and given to another customer. I checked out at that table and she gave my card back I set it down to give her dishes after tipping her cash then it vanished. So why wasn’t it found when we were at the table?? I never left that spot from my seat. Not adding up. I believe that she did indeed take my card. Anyway it’s now canceled and I’m at work so my guy will come and get that card so I can have peace of mind. Thank you."

"We moved here from Memphis 2 yrs ago and this is the only place we have found in St.louis that I would definitely recommend and go back to over and over again! The food is amazing. We normally get the catfish and spaghetti plate with candid yams and when I tell you it slaps everytime! The food is always cooked hot and fresh, it's seasoned perfectly, and the service is amazing. They always greet you with a smile and seem happy to have you in. We normally order to go but the inside of the place is a whole vibe with music on weekends, if you are looking for somewhere to just chill and hangout that has good food and drinks as well. If you get by or are thinking about trying it definitely stop in!! It will be worth your while for sure!!"

"This restaurant has been talked about quite a bit lately so I stopped in for lunch. The owner was talking about how they just switched to a different butcher for their beef & she brought out a couple of samples of meat to try. It was decided that it needed to be more tender & was put on hold on the menu board. Oh my God it was so good…so I went with the pork rib tips, with spaghetti & green beans. The portion of meat was hefty & was so tender & good on its own that I didn’t want to ruin the taste by smothering it in sauce. The spaghetti didn’t last long in its bowl; very good. Green beans with onions, ham & potatoes was also a great choice as a side. On all the reviews I saw, it seemed like the staff are as amazing as the food, & that is no lie. I felt like I was at a friend’s house or something. I was included in conversations, given a tour of the other parts of restaurant which includes a back patio & the memorable claustrophobic basement where locals would have jam sessions when it was Iron Barley. Just good vibes & a great place to have a meal & a drink. Highly recommend & will be back!!"

"Stopped by on a Saturday and they only had a limited entree and sides which was disappointing because we came here based off the full menu. We ordered some fish plates with cheese fries, spaghetti, and baked beans. The fish was sooo delicious and the spaghetti! Their cheese had a nice spice to it, the baked beans could have been better but tasted ok. Would love to come when we can get some mac & cheese, yams, cabbage. The service was great, nice and friendly. The place was clean and looked good with a full bar."
