Walther Park, located at 1551 Veterans Drive in De Soto, Missouri, is the largest park in the De Soto parks system. Covering 18 acres of land along Joachim Creek, this park offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. The park features a greenway along the creek with benches for passive observation, a 1.3 mile exercise loop for walkers and joggers, restrooms, benches, outdoor grills, and ample parking. Mature trees provide shade for playgrounds and picnicking areas, while a row of trees along Joachim Creek will eventually provide overhead enclosure. Recent improvements include the installation of rubber mulch at play areas to prevent injuries, sidewalks and ramps for accessibility, sand volleyball courts, and a gazebo for all visitors to enjoy.
