"I recently had hip replacement surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital (surgical services). From arrival to discharge, the experience was very positive, professional and caring. Dr. Robert Tuttle was my surgeon, and I can't say enough good things about him. He was thorough in his initial consultation, saw me again in his office prior to surgery to ensure I had read all the material and answered any questions. The Allina book about hip replacement was well written and an excellent resource before, during and after my surgery. Admissions at the hospital went smoothly, all staff was especially caring and also fun, which put me at ease. In particular, I want to recognize my nurse Stacy, who was part of the care team on the 7th floor. She was absolutely excellent, reassuring, caring and fun. I am so appreciative of all the providers at Abbott as the job they do is hard and not without risk. We are lucky here in Minnesota to have such a great hospital and talented professionals to provide us care!"
"Been waiting over 24hrs to speak with a doctor. Meanwhile edema is building up along with my questions. Nurses don’t know much about our case either, but they are doing their best to treat symptoms. We were told we would be speaking to a doctor today but unfortunately apparently all the doctors went home by this evening, so that didn’t happen. So now we are spending the night continuing to wait and wonder, while not being allowed to eat or drink anything. Because “maybe” might be having surgery? Who knows. Hard to have that discussion without speaking to a surgeon. It’s hard enough feeling overwhelmingly sick with a life threatening illness. But also dealing with unreliability and unknown is the worst! The doctor could at least stopped by to introduce herself and let us know she hasn’t forgot about us. Would have made a big difference. The front Piper parking lot is convenient if you can figure out how to get out when you want to leave."
"If you truly love yourself or your loved one, do not bring them here. My family member was unfortunately brought here and met his end with these people. I won’t go into specifics, but he walked in with his two feet and left in a body bag. It was truly an experience I’ll never forget. Horrible communication system, unfit nurses (except for one nice young lady), and a disgusting excuse of a coordination/social team. Save your time and energy for a different place."
"They tried to put me in a psych ward when I came in for endometriosis pain and severe head pain after hitting my head. They threatened me when I cried from being in pain. I was gaslit and told I did not have bowel endometriosis when I was in fact having it removed 2 weeks later by a renowned specialist at Mayo Clinic. I was gaslit and told I did not have whiplash from my head injury when I had proof from another doctor from the day before that I did and showed them the proof. They had me evaluated by a psychiatrist who told my doctors I was there because I have autism when I explicitly stated several times I had never been diagnosed with autism and was their for endometriosis pain. At the end of my hospital stay I was sicker than when I came in and showing signs of POTS, something I’ve always struggled with. I was violently shaking, my BP dropped so low they needed the ICU to come check on me several times, and my heart rate was over 140 most of the time I was there. They told me it was anxiety until the last day when they checked my cortisol levels and came back apologizing, saying it was likely POTS. I left severely traumatized. I was questioned why my medical PTSD prevented me from being seen in the first place and they only caused me more by the time I had left. I will never come back to this place again and will be filing a complaint/seeking legal action on all of the very abusive and negligent doctors I saw during that stay. They also deleted my medical records from MyChart after posting them after my stay there."
"Overall I’d like to give 5 stars but can’t. We went to ER on orders of our retinologist who called ahead of our arrival. The triage portion was actually very quick the waiting for a bed in ER unfortunately about 2 hours and another several hours for a room in the hospital. It took about 9 hours from Start to finish to actually get to a room in the hospital it self. the staff, nurses, and doctors along the way. Incredible!!! My spouse was on the 7th floor for 3 nights and the care was really quite extraordinary. He’s never been hospitalized and they made him feel safe and comfortable. I wish I could remember every name. But it was a very hectic and emotional weekend with so many moving pieces. But I do remember a nurse named Stephanie I think and Dr Brindle but all were so kind and attentive. Just please work on the intake part to try and streamline a bit . Other that that A+"
