Originally from Marine City, Michigan, Shelby moved across the state to attend Grand Valley State University for her bachelor's degree in psychology. She then became a graduate student at Western Michigan University and worked at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital as a psychometrist, focusing on assessment and evaluation. In her free time, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband and puppy, traveling, being near water, camping, and rewatching episodes of Friends.
