"My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Inn. It was delightful. The rooms are on the smaller side. However you go there to bird watch, walk on the lake explore shops and restaurants in the area. Even though it was a little cool and rainy it was still fun to watch the birds. Michelle was very kind to us we had to reschedule because of illness and she was able to accommodate our dates.PLEASE do not believe the negative Nellie who used an online booking service that made a huge mistake. I knew Michelle and staff to be very kind and helpful. There’s never a need to say ugly things about someone. They are in process of renovating and updating. And they told us about that. Let’s just be kind there is enough ugliness in this world. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return"

"My wife was really looking forward to our stay at the Purple Martin from all the reviews but we were not impressed with our stay. No one was there to great us upon arrival even though we checked in at the standard time. It would have been nice to get the owners input to find out where a good place to eat dinner was or if there were any local places that we should check out. The exterior of the building needs some TLC. When we got into our room we noticed that there was a couple in the next room. After we were in the room we could hear them through the wall. Then we checked all aspects of the room and we saw that the body wash and shampoo were a couple of well used bottles that were half full. They should be full unopened individual use bottles. Using the previous guests leftovers is rather disgusting! Later the guests checked into the room on the other side of us and we could hear their conversations as well. We ended up whispering the entire time in our room as to not be heard through the paper thin walls. There is a minimum of a 2 night stay, however after the first night we just couldn’t bring ourselves to stay another night even though it was non refundable. I believe that these are new owners but for the price that we paid we were expecting a lot more."
