"My brother and his wife rented a pontoon in July the employee or owner was very rude he was supposed to do a operating, rules, and look over boats conditon ect before our departure and he did not. Not long after we got on lake we noticed an area of damage upon returning that evening we immediately informed him. He immediately said that wasn't there when we left. There was also another area at back of boat he pointed out and one of our guest was able to push the aluminum out instantly. Later that night my sister in law got a call from owner stating we damaged boat and additionally accused a "man in red ahirt" with us of breaking a window out of his truck in parking lot. This couldn't be more untrue. The only man in a reddish colored shirt was my sister in laws father whom is handicapped, has difficulty even walking. We are not malicious people and if we didn't damage we would take responsibility for any damages. Within 24 hours of rental the owner charged my sister in laws credit card for over $2000.00 thus is very inappropriate and sad"

"Edit: 2 years after my first review and 10 years staying here. Jim and Marilyn were fay Martin. The new owners did a ton of updates it seems but for them this is definitely about the money and no love for the community that Jim and Marilyn built. They raised the price of each cabin $200 and the price of pontoon rentals has more then doubled. When asked about booking for next year John said we had to speak to his wife. After a week there we never saw her. Asked again on Friday about booking and he said he'd know by the beginning of the following week and would call. He didn't. Called him on Thursday to ask again, he said he would have an answer by the next day and would call back. 4 weeks later and we have never heard from him. They have all the boat people parking their trailers in the lot now vs out front and so there is very little room for renters in the lot between boat trailers and pontoon rental people in the lot. They have a strict no dog policy in their cabins. However they have 4 dogs of their own they can't control and they are constantly off leash and in your area or trying to get into your cabin. Then there is a woman who seems to know them of be friends with them that brings he dog also and she takes it right into the cabin as she pleases. This is a super nice place to stay. Owners are very friendly and helpful and strive to make your stay pleasant. Cabin is always clean (we are return customers) linens, towels, kitchen needs all supplied. Coffee pot, toaster, golf carts to get yourself from cabin to river if you have coolers and things. There is a small play area for kids, and a fire pit area for your use. Each cabin has it's own grill so no waiting in line for dinner. The cabins a a nice ways from indian river, but you still have a great view. With kids the space is awesome because I dont have to worry about the kids and the river all the time. They also have a nice set up right by the river tiki bar, table, chairs, very nice restroom. This rental also comes with a boat slip that's well taken care of and a awesome addition. This is a community of cabins which is most of the time fun and comfortable. We have had an occasional rowdy group, and while the owners are all about you having a good time, they do control all that closer to the cabins and dont put up with anything. Making this a great place to have a good time but also family friendly, where you can put young kids to bed and know they will be able to sleep without crazy parties keeping them up. Almost perfectly between burt and mullet lake, both amazing. Tool up and down the river, all sport lake fun. Wildlife to see and snowmobile trails you can walk. Plenty of good places to eat, walk downtown for some souvenirs. There is a little local grocery store or take straights hwy up to chaboygan for a super walmart."

"The newly renovated cabins are absolutely adorable and so clean. The area is so quiet and relaxing, the beds are so comfortable and the atmosphere is very cozy warm and welcoming. We were welcomed with open arms upon our arrival and everyone has been so sweet and kind! Definitely will be coming back!"

"We rented a tritoon for the day and it was priced very reasonably. Most important it was the owners who were so helpful They had golf carts to help move our coolers ans items back to our car. Highly recommend!!"

"Great time was had during our stay. Accommodations were clean and well kept. Owners were like family. Boats and dock area were the same. Good location for walking to town. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. Been to a lot of places, this one ranks high on the return list!"
