Window on the Waterfront
● OpenWindow on the Waterfront, located on Central Avenue in Holland, Michigan, is a historic park and tourist attraction with a rich history dating back to July of 1918. Originally established as Athletic Park, the facility was used for local baseball games and was the home field for Holland's team, the Independents. In the mid-1920s, the park was briefly known as Water Works Park before being renamed Riverview Park. In 1937, lights were installed at the park, allowing for the first lighted baseball game between the Holland Flying Dutchmen and Zeeland Chicks. The lights also enabled Hope College to host evening football games and Holland High School to use the facility for their home football games starting in 1940.
