After the historic 2018 thunderstorm, our boardwalks were meticulously rebuilt to meet modern accessibility standards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

MTU Skate Rental Center
● OpenThe MTU Skate Rental Center is located at 101 Macinnes Drive in Houghton, Michigan. It is part of the Student Development Complex (SDC), a 235,000-square-foot facility that offers a wide range of recreation and fitness options for students, faculty, staff, and the community. Visitors to the campus and customers of the SDC can access the skate rental center, as well as members of the Huskies Club during home athletic events. Overnight parking is not permitted in the lot on the North Side, which is reserved for UP Health/Rehab patients. Michigan Tech students have access to the SDC through their student fees, while faculty, staff, and community members can purchase access with various pricing and length options. Daily passes are also available for those who do not have a membership. Certain areas of the SDC can be rented or reserved, with different rates for each specific area. Rentals and reservations are open to community members, student organizations, faculty, staff, and students.
