“Took my son here for school holidays, what a superb experience! As someone who is used to staying in high end hotels I really appreciated the opportunity for a more 'boutique' style experience and Hotel Vera was perfect with its seven individually styled rooms. David & Martin are superb hosts, unfailingly polite, friendly and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. The location couldn't be better - right in the middle of town, minutes walk to anything you need but the once inside the hotel, it's an oasis of calm. The renovation itself is stunning and the high quality fitout is obvious. Our room, Lonarch was located on the ground floor and was the perfect blend of old and new. We had the added benefit having a delightful courtyard which would have been perfect in the summer months. Guest are rewarded with wonderful bedding, large climate-controlled rooms, high ceilings and amazing bathrooms. The breakfast provided was continental style and the perfect compliment to the hotel. Delicious local pastries, fresh fruits and tea / coffee are set out in the stunning dining room which also acts a night time restaurant on weekends. Don't waste your time considering other accommodation options in Ballarat - choose Hotel Vera - you will glad you did.”

“Visited this beautifully renovated hotel for wine & nibbles. The wine list was extensive & featured many local wines. The food, also locally produced, was absolutely delicious. (We had pork crackle bites, roasted almonds, artisan breads, relishes & delicious cheeses). We sat in the quaint beer garden & were catered to our every need by the friendly staff. The breakfast menu looks amazing & there will soon be dinner options as well. I will be coming back to try all of that! The owners have more exciting plans in store for this hotel, I definitely recommend a visit.”

“My Bo and Maggie stayed here a month ago as a trial for two days and loved it. They have heated and non heated kennels, as well as a catery. Chris and Colin were both very amazing to deal with and are currently looking over our munchkins again. I would personally like to Thank Chris for setting up two nights for them to stay and helping ease my anxiety with the whole situation. Highly recommend.”

Having to stay near St. John of God hospital to have an op this was the perfect place, approx 500 metres away. Bonus was calling direct and receiving a hospital discount on our rate. “The staff are fantastic, providing excellent and friendly service. Food is of consistently high quality and love the atmosphere. Three different areas to sit for general dining and I love that there’s the option for quieter areas when I have the kiddos with me as the oldest one has sensory issues, so struggles with loud environments. Love the coffee, the service and the building. One of my favs!!!”

“As good as it gets!! We dined at The George and it was an excellent experience. The dining area is well laid out with plenty of space, and privacy in the booths. The food was fantastic. Our slight variation in the order was accommodated and the food was top notch. Particularly impressed by the serving sizes - very generous, especially the salad. The food itself was excellent. Service was great. Our host, Gary, was attentive, personable and efficient, and helped to make the experience enjoyable.”

“Excellent night at The Eastern, being entertained by Neil Hamburger and Dr El Suavo. The rooms are great value for money, clean, comfortable and warm. The bathrooms are shared facilities, but there was never any wait to use as there are plenty to go around. Highly recommend staying here, if you don't mind a place with a bit of character.”

“Our dog is groomed by Ebony and the team and they are so good with him. They're always friendly and show him so much love and care. They also did pet sitting for us for our wedding and brought him to the venue it was so special and a real weight off our shoulders knowing he was so cared for when we had a lot going on as it was!”

“This motel is a gem! It was a big surprise and felt like taking a trip back in time with its retro look but with modern perks like roaring WiFi. It's location is in a quit and beautiful neighbourhood but close to town and has plenty of excellent eateries nearby. Even a classic fish and chip shop with prices still stuck in the 80s. The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming so you'll feel more like you're visiting family than staying in a motel. Most importantly the beds are so comfortable you'll sleep like a hibernating bear... There's plenty of food options to get delivery so you won't have to get out of bed if that's your agenda. The pool and bbq area and grassy knoll downstairs is really pretty and all the gardens are well maintained, perfect for families and definatly child friendly.”
