“Rooms are comfortable, but the furniture is table and chairs would benefit from a bit of painting & reupholstering. The hosts were pleasant, and there are not many motels that let dogs of any description stay let alone a large dog. I have a greyhound.”

“A great little find! Location was very convenient -- and while the front is on a main road, room are at the back of the property resulting in no road noise. Rooms are dated but very comfortable, spacious, well equipped (microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle), well heated (we visited in July) and clean as a whistle. Thank you!”

Having to stay near St. John of God hospital to have an op this was the perfect place, approx 500 metres away. Bonus was calling direct and receiving a hospital discount on our rate. Would highly recommend”

“First time staying here as my usual motel was booked up. We had a family room with interconnected rooms. Reception lady was lovely and polite. They provided a fan on my request. They gave complimentary milk. The room was lovely and so big. They had a big bath and powerful shower. The receptionist was more than happy to help us with unlocking the sliding door as we couldn’t get it open. Now a few little things wrong. The toilet wouldn’t work properly. We would haft to flush 3-4 times to get the paper down every time and it did get annoying. Also the website says room service twice but when u get there it’s just a breakfast tray they can deliver and breakfast in the restaurant is actually in the restaurant next door and u haft to book the day before. But seriously we were still happy with all the menulog and door dash deliveries kept everyone happy and not annoyed by the lack of room service. The aircon came in handy with the mid 30s heat too. Will definitely look at coming back here again”

“Much better than I expected given the price! Real value for money. Large room, comfy bed, two large size TVs one in the sitting area downstairs (didn't use them), everything down to nice rain shower, good quality toiletries ( not the standard hotel stuff) and ironing board provided, nice pantry with a fridge. Wifi was superb I could easily do mails and calls. There's enough eateries and pubs within a minute or two of walk. And lots of others about five minutes away. Of course most guests drive in though I didn't. Just one minor issue the stools kept near the study desk not tall enough so it's uncomfortable to work more than few minutes. A simple work chair will be nice.”

“As good as it gets!! We dined at The George and it was an excellent experience. The dining area is well laid out with plenty of space, and privacy in the booths. The food was fantastic. Our slight variation in the order was accommodated and the food was top notch. Particularly impressed by the serving sizes - very generous, especially the salad. The food itself was excellent. Service was great. Our host, Gary, was attentive, personable and efficient, and helped to make the experience enjoyable.”

“Recently stayed for a local festival. Vintage and so clean! If the weather had allowed, I would have jumped in the pool since it was so clean and inviting. A covered bbq area with seating available by the pool. Restaurants at walking distance. All in all good price and a good stay. No frills but all available and neat!”

“Excellent night at The Eastern, being entertained by Neil Hamburger and Dr El Suavo. The rooms are great value for money, clean, comfortable and warm. The bathrooms are shared facilities, but there was never any wait to use as there are plenty to go around. Highly recommend staying here, if you don't mind a place with a bit of character.”
