“Wow, what a birthday cake! Nigella's cake was delicious and beautifully decorated She shared it with 13 doggy friends and still was able to save a sliver for her breakfast the next morning. There should be Michelin stars awarded for the cuisine at Doghouse Dog Cafe. The menu is as broad as it is interesting, covering meals, treats and party food. Outside there's a pleasant dog and human friendly cafe.”

The outdoor setting in front is surrounded by flowers of all colours and far enough from the road to make it feel as though you away from the hustle and bustle of city. “Lyf Hotel/Hostel Best Budget Accommodation Close to the City Award Single/Double Room Review My recent stay at Lyf Hostel in Melbourne was an absolute pleasure. The complimentary morning coffee was a wonderful perk that added a touch of coziness to my mornings. The rooms were beautifully designed, catering perfectly to both solo travelers and couples. What really impressed me was the hotel's prime location near the vibrant Fitzroy nightlife. It added a layer of excitement to my evenings, and the fact that there's a fantastic breakfast place downstairs just made the whole experience even better. On top of that, the seamless access to the city via the tram was incredibly convenient. Whether I was headed for work or leisure, getting around was a breeze. “My wife and I called in for a coffee and toastie after a nearby medical appointment. Coffee was excellent and the toastie was excellent too. On a cold Melbourne day it really hit the spot. They had a heater on and the front of house person was friendly and helpful. But better is to come. We left a mobile on the table. Realised it some way down the freeway and turned back. Sure enough. There is was waiting for us with a smile. Cannot say enough good words about the Cambridge Cafe, for their coffee, food, service and honesty. Oh by the way, the prices were really good too so value was great.”

“We ate here last night - very attentive and great service. Peter was front of house in this family run business. He was friendly and respectful, checking in on us. The food was amazing - we had the banquet option with 6 vegetarian dishes for 2. There was so much food we couldn’t fit dessert in. Other diners appeared to enjoy their dining experience too! “I loved everything about Hotel Collingwood, the decor and ambiance was lovely, a great menu and exceptional service. The beer on tap was impressive and there is a beautiful beer garden at the back which is cosy. We shared a number of dishes, each presented and tasted amazing with good quality ingredients. We ordered the Kingfish sashimi, salt & pepper calamari, grilled fish of the day and Black Angus ribeye 350g, all dishes so yum and even better when washed down with a glass of beer!”

“I am a very happy owner of an apartment in the complex. The standard of finishing was everything we had hoped for. There have been many surprises and little touches we have uncovered during our short time here, everyone of them good. This building is a class above.”

“Amazing location. I've stayed in the CBD before in a serviced apartment but it felt cramped and dark. This place is so spacious and light, it has a fully equipped kitchen and the outdoor spaces made the visit really comfortable. This area is just a few tram stops from the CBD but better cafés and bars and easy access to playgrounds which is a must when you got kids like me. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Perfectly delightful!! First of all the restaurant is gorgeous. The vibe was great. The lighting, the volume and choices of music were perfect. I could see all around that all the other customers were having a good time enjoying their dinner. I walked past this restaurant awhile ago and was struck by the look of it and wanted to come eat here immediately but was afraid that the service would be quite cold like beautiful restaurants in London but not at all. The service was lovely and we were welcomed even though we dressed quite casual (but next time we will dress up a bit in order to fit in with the grandeur of the place) We sat in a booth table in front of the open galley which we enjoyed tremendously watching the chefs preparing dishes after dishes in sync and fine organization. We had steak tartare to share. It was fresh and tasty and well plated. Steak au poivre and fries for main for both of us. Flavourful and juicy. We finished with fruity perfectly risen souffle to share for dessert. They also take allergies seriously here. The wait staff had a great care about this matter and we were asked right away when we ordered the food if we had any dietary restrictions. She then recommended and suggested the food that fitted our diet. The chefs also put in a good care for the allergies as we heard the head chef repeated the order of the diet four times to his team so that was very reassuring for us. The cocktails were also delicious; I had a refreshing gin and tonic while waiting for our table, and a delicate matisse while having our main course. Will definitely come back here and will certainly recommend this restaurant to all our friends for romantic or any special meals.”

“I've been here many times as a patron and had an excellent time. I recently had the pleasure of hosting a function in one of the private rooms available which was catered and a bar tab set up. The staff were superbly lovely and competent making the evening flow smoothly and effortlessly. The food was great and enjoyed by all and the tab was enjoyed without a hitch. 10/10 would recommend a function. Also, great place for a game of pool and a pint if that's ya vibe.”

The meal was balanced with the creamy mash potatoes and the acidic onions too. Was a complete steal as well for price. Even their chicken tenders was the best I’ve ever had. “This lunch place is very happening. Lots of options for savoury and sweets! Not only that, the options are nice and healthy. Salads are very tasty. Porchetta is nicely roasted with the very crispy top. Swordfish skewers are nice but I did ask the kitchen to cook it through more as the way it was cooked originally was quite raw. I can see why some others might like it but i don’t personally like to eat raw swordfish very much. On the other hand, the sweet options are great. A lot of them are small and healthy for those who don’t want a massive dessert. But there are also slightly bigger ones like the cakes. I am yet to go back to try the cakes!”
