The field station houses TNC staff, equipment, and interns from various conservation organizations on the Vineyard. The preserve is also involved in ecological restoration of sandplain grasslands, a globally rare community type. Visitors can access the preserve by car, bike, or taxi from the nearby ferry landings in Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. The trails on the property wind through open fields, pitch pine forests, and dry oak forests, offering the opportunity to see a variety of plant and animal species throughout the year.
Swift River Reservation
