This picturesque park is a part of the Apponagansett Bay Farm conservation effort, proudly acquired by the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT) in partnership with the Buzzards Bay Coalition in August 2019. Spanning 77 acres, the reserve offers a rich tapestry of landscapes, including 7.4 acres of salt marsh, 21 acres of forested swamp, an 8-acre agricultural field, two streams, wooded uplands, and two vernal pools. Begin your adventure at the trailhead located in the parking lot, where you can embark on approximately 2 miles of scenic trails. As you explore, enjoy the vibrant sounds of nature, such as wood frogs and spring peepers in the wetlands along the White Trail during early spring. In the summer, the Yellow Trail offers opportunities to spot ospreys and willets from the edge of the salt marsh.
