Philbin Memorial Park and Splashpad
Philbin Memorial Park and Splashpad is a historic park located at 42-62 Berlin Street in Clinton, Massachusetts, United States. The park, also known as "The Acre", was once the site of the Forbes School, built in 1911. After the school was removed, the land was transformed into a park with a playground, tennis courts, and a basketball court that has remained virtually untouched since the 1950s. In the early 1980s, the park was dedicated to Edward J. Philbin Senior, a beloved member of the community known for his generosity and dedication to Clinton. The park now features a splash pad, shade structure, and upgraded playground equipment. The Splashpad operates from 8am to 8pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Visitors can turn on the Splashpad by touching the top of the red fire hydrant element, and it runs for several cycles before going through a cooling cycle. Please note that the Splash Pad may shut off up to half an hour early due to the timer settings.
