The Naval Academy Chapel
The Naval Academy Chapel, located at 121 Blake Road in Annapolis, Maryland, is a place of worship that serves the Brigade of Midshipmen, faculty, and staff of the United States Naval Academy. The Commodore Levy Center and Jewish Chapel, along with seven other smaller chapels and prayer spaces, provide for the religious needs of those on campus. The architecture of the chapel combines elements of Ancient Israel with the traditions of sea service, creating a sacred and peaceful environment for prayer and reflection. The chapel is open to visitors most weekdays, offering a chance to explore the beautiful architecture and history of the building. Led by Senior Chaplain CAPT Maurice Buford, a dedicated team of Navy chaplains, Religious Program Specialists, civilian employees, and volunteers work to provide religious ministry and support to the Academy community. The Naval Academy Chapel and Crypt of John Paul Jones are open for visitation from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, unless being used for special events such as weddings, funerals, or memorial services.
