"*LONG POST AHEAD* The prompt for this review says, “Tell people why the pro was great”, and that’s exactly what I planned to do! So (claps hands), Josh was my technician today! Y’all, when I say this man was knowledgeable, he was that and then some! So before I go in, let me go back before I get ahead of myself. I contacted the company yesterday to ensure my HVAC was working properly amidst these below freezing temperatures we’ve been experiencing this week. My HVAC was indeed functioning, but I wasn’t sure it was functioning as it should consideringj the temps. So along came Josh! For starters, I’m an extreme clean and neat freak mixed with self diagnosed OCD. I felt bad asking if he could put on those blue shoe cover things and explained myself. He laughed, pulled a pair from his pocket and said, how about I put these on! We laughed and I felt so relieved! (Side note: True customer services begins at the door and that’s why I didn’t want to leave that out). I explained my concerns with the HVAC running consistently over night and the things I’ve put into place during the day to combat the issue. He smiled and nodded which reassured he knew exactly what I was talking about, that it wasn’t uncommon and was addressable. He did his thing and checked out the outside unit, which was good. While out there, he told me he noticed my crawlspace door was wide open and explained how cold air going in there could cause cooler air coming through the vents (which was a concern I noticed). He closed it and securely locked it for me, grateful! He also mentioned he checked under there to ensure the floors were insulted, which they were. Talk about above and beyond! (Or below and beyond lol). He continued to assess the situation and checked the indoor unit of my home and the temperature of air coming from the vents. He even removed my thermostat and made sure it was functioning properly! Here is where I “tell the people why the pro was great”. Josh explained everything in great and I mean GREAT detail. He provided me with so much information about the system, that I literally had to take notes! He told me about the Emergency Heat option, how it works and when it should kick in. Ofcourse I had questions about this function and boy did he explain and provide answers for everything! He educated me on when it’s supposed to do what and how to check the temperature in my vents to make sure it’s indeed kicking on when it should be. He turned it on to ensure it worked and everything. He suggested when I should manually turn it on (during certain temp ranges) and how to ensure that function actually functions as it should automatically. Further more, he educated me on my specific unit and how it serves my house. He talked about summer usage and in house humidity etc. We discussed if the size of the unit was suitable for the square footage of my house as well. Josh made simple and cost efficient suggestions for me to begin to really understand how my HVAC is functioning. I’m a triple checker and before leaving, Josh made sure the thermostat was reset (no emergency heat on) and that everything was secure before he left! In summary, I know good people when I see them and he is for sure one! Good people produce GOOD customer services and Josh is truly top tier! I will absolutely be contacting this company and asking for him for any future concerns! I am sure the other pros are also pros, but for now, I can only rave about Josh. He was both extremely professional and personable. He was a tremendous help, educator, accessor and reassurance when it came to me being a fairly new home owner. Thank you Josh for your honesty. Because you’re so damn knowledgeable, I’m now aware of how my HVAC system works."

"In case you don’t read my Novel, I highly recommend TN Bowes! They were HONEST, Professional, the two Tech’s were patient with me. Arriving early, after I’d driven back from McLean, things were hectic…until I found my manners, they kept there’s! And they were the ONLY S. MD Company, out of five total, that cared enough to tell us the truth. We didn’t need a new $16-20K system that two other’s were happy to finance for us! Two didn’t say anything just kept jury-rigging. Total charges including a Seasonal Service Contract w 25% off all parts, under $700 for everything! Tommy and his coworker came on a rainy day, they gave me really shocking news…whomever installed the AC unit in 2008 (before we owned the house) never connected the system, so it had been cooling our crawl space for the 10 years since we bought the house. The Heating duct work had rotted. No way to tell when? We’d been heating the crawls space too, worse pumping CO2 into it and the house. Well known local one of the biggest SMD HVAC Companies turned a blind eye to a very dangerous situation because they couldn’t make a dime off of us, as did a Family owned HVAC in business for over 50 yrs Veteran owned. I guess because I didn’t Serve, dying of CO2 poisoning was okay? For 10 yrs our SMECO BILL was sky high, so much for our local COOP caring? You would think they’d wonder why the Bill skyrocketed in 2008? TN Bowes, thank God fit us in ahead of schedule, and knowing the situation was dangerous, they got every part ASAP, and rescheduled the repairs quickly. They also sent one of the original Tech’s out, Tommy. That way there the same Tech who diagnosed the problem repaired it. No confusion. He also recommended a DUCT cleaning Co. with 3 GSD’s, one very fuzzy, I knew this was urgent now that everything had new filters too. (Pic) They signed me up for the twice a year Service plan, it discounts Parts, I think there’s no emergency Service Fee…lot’s o perks. Everything the repairs, the plan (back in Spring!) all under $700.00. I almost doubted them originally because so many other’s had lied, isn’t that sad. So, please give them your FIRST CALL and compare all the other’s against their estimate. Take them up on their Service plan, it paid for itself w my repairs, and expedited my appointment. And they like my dogs! Thanks guys!"

"TN Bowes has been servicing my mother’s Oil Furnace for a few years now. Just recently she decided to have the oil furnace replaced after 40 years. TN Bowes came out and gave her an estimate plus took time to explain all the different types of furnaces available that would work best for her home and space. I really appreciate that fact that TN Bowes will work with you. TN Bowes is very professional when it comes to providing their services. "After having a completely different company come and look at our system and pretty much wanted to nickel and dime us. We reach out to T.N Bowes and they came in and checked the same exact things and offered way more help and knowledge. We ended up spending 1/3 of the price with them than if we had gone with the competitors. We were also told false information about our furnace that T.N Bowes checked out and said it was in fine condition. Super thankful for their honesty and quick actions to help!"
