Terrapin Nature Park
Terrapin Nature Park is a 276-acre award-winning nature park located at 191 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, Maryland, United States. The park features a 3.25-mile oyster chaff walking trail that takes visitors through wildflower meadows, wetlands, tidal ponds, woodlands, and sandy shoreline. This trail offers a unique opportunity to observe a variety of waterfowl, wildlife, and plant species. A gazebo along the shoreline provides a stunning view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, while park benches offer a place to rest along the way. The trail also includes observation blinds overlooking the tidal ponds and connects to the County's Cross Island Trail system. Portable toilets are available year-round, with plans to install a Rangers Station and Restroom pods at the trailhead in Spring 2022. Visitors are reminded to respect the park's natural environment by refraining from bringing coolers, grills, open fires, or shade structures outside of designated areas, and to only fish in permitted areas.
