Hart-Miller Island State Park
β OpenHart-Miller Island State Park is a 1,100-acre island located in Baltimore County on the Chesapeake Bay near the mouth of Middle River. Originally two separate islands, Hart and Miller, were joined by a dike in 1981 to create the current island. The park offers a variety of recreational activities such as boating, camping, and birdwatching. The western shore features a sandy beach and safe mooring for boats. The park also includes Hawk Cove and Pleasure Island, providing additional opportunities for outdoor fun. Visitors can enjoy encountering different species of plants, insects, and wildlife while exploring the island. The park is a popular destination for boaters in the northern Chesapeake Bay region. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources leads efforts to preserve and protect the state's natural resources, ensuring a sustainable future for the environment, society, and economy. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset, with camping available from May 1st to September 30th. Registered campers are allowed on the island after sunset.
