This unique area is home to over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species, as well as rare insects, rocks, and minerals. Visitors can explore seven miles of marked hiking trails, but equestrians and cyclists are prohibited to protect the sensitive environment. The park is currently undergoing a five-year effort to remove invasive Virginia Pines and restore the natural serpentine habitat. By participating in this restoration project, visitors can help preserve the rare grassland plant species that call Soldiers Delight home.
