Serpentine Trail
About the Business
The Serpentine Trail is located in Owings Mills, Maryland, within the Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area. This 1,900-acre park is home to over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species, as well as rare insects, rocks, and minerals. The park features seven miles of marked hiking trails, perfect for exploring the unique serpentine barren landscape.
Due to the sensitive nature of the area, equestrians and cyclists are prohibited. Efforts are currently underway to remove invasive Virginia Pines and restore the natural serpentine habitat. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is dedicated to preserving and protecting the state's natural resources for future generations.
Visitors can sign up for monthly email updates on activities in the park and surrounding areas, including Patapsco Valley State Park and Morgan Run. The Department also operates a toll-free fraud hotline to report any misuse of state government resources.
Explore the natural beauty and unique ecosystem of the Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area along the Serpentine Trail.

Reviews
"Very nice trail for hiking, to see fall colors and also grassland."
"Most definitely my favorite place to go meditate and sun gaze!"
"Prefer to visit this trail on fall and spring. During summer its ok, but vegetation can be quite thick, lots thorny bushes, and ticks on tall grasses. Some parts can be little muddy. rocky areas can be slippery after it rains so wear shoes with good soles for traction and safety. Walking sticks can be useful if you have some mileage on your knee/s. Watched a couple of beautiful Sunset at the parking lot. Be sure to drop by the soldiers delight visitor center before going back to the parking lot"
"Very nice place for sight seeing and hiking"
