β ClosedThe Harriet Tubman Cultural Center, located at 8045 Harriet Tubman Lane in Columbia, Maryland, is a historic institution that commemorates the legacy of the Harriet Tubman High School and celebrates the impact of African Americans in Howard County and beyond. Originally opened in 1949 as the county's only all-black high school, the building was used by the Howard County Public School System for over 50 years before being transformed into a cultural center. The center offers a variety of spaces for rental for all occasions, with prices set to increase on July 1, 2023. The Virginia Randolph & Cecil Burton Multipurpose Room is available for reservation by the hour, with a 2-hour minimum requirement.

Community Ecology Institute
β OpenThe Community Ecology Institute, located at 8000 Harriet Tubman Lane in Columbia, Maryland, is dedicated to cultivating communities where people and nature thrive together. The institute's Freetown Farm is currently collecting donations of #2 (HDPE) and #5 (PP) plastics for their Upcycled program. The Upcycled collection bin can be found in their Maker Space next to the Gear Closet and across from the tool trailer.
