The Cockney landlord was really friendly and kept a good pint of holts bitter. The Beer was 10 out of 10 and I really enjoyed his company. Excellent people Skills with customers and a credit to the holts business. I could have stayed there all day with the friendly environment. I Will be coming back soon”

“Never been on a weekend but damn its banging on a Thursday with karaoke and great atmosphere. No tossers either just good, down to earth people of all ages out for a laugh. Also amazing prices on drinks. House doubles and pints for only £2.50 and very clean too. Me and my partner and our friends love this place.”

Forester's Call
“Not been in this public house for a long time, due to moving out of manchester, but last time I was in I was with a friend and we had a brilliant day/night I would definitely recommend this public house and hopefully I will return one day to see my friend, the prices were very reasonably priced the atmosphere was so nice and the people were so chatty and made you feel so welcome I had a good laugh with some customers who my friend introduced me to… great pub!”
The Prince of Wales
“Brilliant pup traditional nice people everyone you chat with very top notch service and a price you can't beat fantastic bunch of staff enjoy it every time but no phones or music or tv for some reason which if they got sorted the place would definitely be the most popular in the area great seating places and decor I'd suggest a visit to anyone going to the area 1 of the best I've been to in a very long time absolute minter Samuel smiths”
The Shady Oak
“Very friendly staff and excellent value for money food - everything on menu tastes delicious!”
The Quadrant
“Stopped off for a quick bite to eat after a day out. We were served quickly and within a reasonable amount of time. The food was good quality, the only little tiny gripe would be the burger patty could have done with being a little flatter (see photo) and filling more of the bun, tasted great though. Prices are competitive with rival brands in the market.”
The Sedge Lynn - JD Wetherspoon
“Popped in to have a quick look inside this beautiful building and found that they had a brilliant array of nice beers on tap including some Belgium and local one's including my favourite chocolate stout and at £1.50 a pint you can't go wrong. Staff are really friendly and attentive.”

The Vulcan
“I gave it 5 stars because it is nostalgic to me. It was my Dads pub in the 60s, I seem to recall it was his second home. The first time I went in was my last day in school at Bishop Greer on Taylor st. I was promptly marched out. My last visit was in the 80s whilst on leave from the Army. I love the Vulcan but the locals used to call it "The Monkey".”
