Marple Clinic
“I’ve been going to this clinic for the last four weeks for an injury on my leg. The wonderful Julia , the nurse who’s been looking after me needs a mention. She is so pleasant and obviously knows what she is doing. I can’t praise her enough.”
Woodstock
“Having lived in Vietnam for several years and experienced the expat scene there where chefs from all around the world have opened award winning pizza restaurants, I come back to Marple to visit this place and realise it is better than them all! Outstanding pizza! I would especially recommend 'The Sizzler'.”
The Locks Coffee House & Bar
“Superb coffee, nice teacake and good (unobtrusive) music. A great place to refresh yourself when out on a long(ish) walk. Dog friendly. Very friendly and approachable staff.”
The Strines Nightingale
“Strines Nightingale shows their is hope for an incredible venue, after death by annexed strangulation, that has been dished out by the corporate drinks industry to the independent pubs in the High Peaks. There’s nowhere you’d rather be locally. The type of place you’ll realise makes you want to relocate to the area. All whilst listening to music worthy of James Ford short. It’s effortless. You won’t be disappointed. A credit to the area.”
Northumberland Arms
“Love supporting our Community Pub. So much going on. We'll done Team Thumb. Looking forward to Street Food next Thursday and quizz at 8.15pm”
The Hunters Inn

Libby's Bread and Wine
“Love it here, it’s one of our favourite places to eat, we are plant based and there’s always plenty to choose from, and we do have the fish now and then, it’s always gorgeous and tasty, and they do a dam good cocktail too x”
The Norfolk Arms
“I arranged a surprise birthday get together for my husband’s birthday on 23rd October. Lauren was fantastic in helping me organise this & sectioned off the room behind the bar for family & friends. I ordered sandwiches for everyone who attended. They were delicious & everyone enjoyed them. All our family & friends agreed that the Norfolk Arms is a great pub, with great staff & a great atmosphere. Thanks for making the surprise party really special! Highly recommend!”
Royal Oak
“Always a great place to watch the footie with the lads. Back garden area has been transformed into an excellent and covered beer garden with TVs for watching the footie in the sunshine if you like”
The Navigation
“Fantastic pub with friendly customers and a great atmosphere. We had a function here at the weekend which was absolutely amazing thanks to Stacey and the other members of staff being so welcoming and friendly! Thank you so much for such a memorable night! Cannot recommend this pub enough.”
Golden Flower
“For a Chinese, delivered, we have always enjoyed the food we've had from Golden Flower. This time, we ordered £180's worth for a particular occasion and it was all delivered on time, very warm, really nice and enjoyed by all. We've never had any complaints in the past either. Recommended.”
Springfield Hotel
“We have stayed here twice in the past & found Kevin to be the perfect host. How people who have never stayed there can comment on the Springfield based on a TV program says more about them than it does about Kevin. How would they like their business run down by people who have not used it? The room was perfect for our needs & the breakfast more than adequate & cooked exactly to our liking. Kevin even offered to give us a lift to a local club as it was raining. We plan on staying again in the near future as soon as the current situation eases and the Springfield will definitely be our first choice in the area. My advice to anyone thinking of staying here? Read reviews of customers & not sad couch potatoes.”
