“A good large traditional pub with a decent pool table and a projector for sports events with a lot of space. Prices are good and the parking is decent. Usually fairly busy but was quiet on the last visit. Only recommendation... turn the heating off! Its summer.”

“A lovely, warm and welcoming pub with a great atmosphere. We had a great night, with an excellent service by very attentive staff. We didn't have to wait long for the food we ordered which was cooked perfect and served piping hot. Along with a few of JWL finest beers, overall a very nice experience and we will definitely be back. A very well managed pub.”

“Stayed here solo while on a two-day break, was fairly priced and also easy to get to and from the city centre on the tram. Also love the location right next to Heaton Park, started off one of my mornings with a walk around it. The room itself, like the hotel, wasn't exactly modern but it was still very comfortable and spacious so can't ask for much more! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Booked myself in for breakfast on my last morning, which was tasty. Really enjoyed my stay here, look forward to the next one!”
