Student community in Salford

“I joined SEM on a whim towards the end of 2019 studying music production & composition with zero knowledge nor experience. I started 2021 feeling equipped and skilled enough to write and produce my first album :) This is a really special school that has been a game-changer for me. The facilities are quality and the staff are a bunch of passionate and talented souls who go that extra mile when it comes to nurturing/developing their students. I wasted no time in jumping on the business module course when i had the chance which has been massively helpful in preparing my campaign. It's always a treat to study around like-minded musicians, so it's very easy to fit in and make a home out of the place. I couldn't recommend it enough and i'll be back when i have some spare cash! “Saw Roxy Music here, very good staffing and signage to find our seats and the other facilities for food and merchandise. We parked at the Printworks which is a few minutes walk away, but is quicker to get out of than the Arena car park when there is a big concert. The seats are okay but the legroom is not massive if you are a bit taller, so maybe consider getting a seat at the front of the block if so. I booked my tickets on Ticketmaster which was very good, I could check out where the seats were and even what the view would be like. I went for seats in block 210 row B, so up towards the back, and I was glad the screens were very good, because I couldn't really see what was going on on the stage very clearly, but then, I don't have brilliant eyesight so it might be me. The sound was very good, properly loud and dynamic, but not so much that my ears were left ringing like some gigs I've been to in small clubs. Overall, a modern venue, professionally run, and well designed.”

“Our 7 year old daughter attended for 1 week last week during half term. She loved it and was very happy every morning and night. There were plenty of staff and it seemed very safe when I arrived each night. The location was handy as my wife and I both work I different offices on the quays. We travel from bramhall direction and having somewhere close to work removed the usual half term stress of having to get back home in time. The actual set up internally looked fantastic, other half term clubs have been in 'rent by the day' school halls and seemed to not have have the advantage of purpose built resources. All in all, it is well run, safe and our daughter had a lovely week there. Thanks to all the team at Footlights!!”

“Great option for someone who wants their children to learn Greek! The teachers are knowledgeable and with great skills. They are very supportive with the children and the parents. My son started nursery this year and he really enjoys the lessons every Saturday morning. He has got new friends, enriches his vocabulary, has more confidence in Greek language and he really loves his teacher. Highly recommended to families of Manchester!”

“I've been dancing at Ballet Contours since January and I can't express enough how amazing Heather is. She is a welcoming, genuine and supportive teacher who encourages each and everyone of us. No matter how many of us are in her class, she spends personalised time with everyone. I leave having an informative understanding of my improvements; my weaknesses that I need work on; and a clearer understanding of my own anatomy. Her teaching methods are inclusive and they deliver results. She clearly puts in alot of time and thought into her lesson plans. I also occasionally have private lessons, when it fits in around life, and I bring my son with me. Heather is so lovely with him, giving him his own space to join in. Heather also takes an interest in what her dancers are upto outside of the studio, asking how we are getting on and even helping me with career choices! Thanks Heather. You're one in a mill!”
