“Enjoy some Indian and Persian food at Ivory IndoPersian Hidden away on the edge of Stockport, Ivory IndoPersian provides a mixture of Indian and Persian food. Each type of cuisine has its own chef, so make sure you order off the menu that you prefer - don’t expect your asian spices on the Persian dishes. It was really busy when we visited, and at full capacity it may feel a little cramped. Don’t let that deter you from trying it out though. The Indian dishes were; \Pani Puri [£3.50] - This was spicy and yummy, with mashed potatoes inside. The tamarind sauce was really tasty \Ivory Indian Special [For 2 £30.00] - Big, juicy, crunchy prawns just the way we like it and with a proper tandoori taste. The meaty lamb chops were done exactly how you want it \Achari [£12.90] - This was such a good recommendation from one of the owners. Sweet yet spicy and filled with a mixture of spices - such a good lamb curry The Persian dishes were; \Mix Mezze [£7.50] - Included the cucumber yoghurt, a mixed salad, hummus and yoghurt. The cucumber yoghurt was refreshing, the yoghurt tasted like plain, greek yoghurt - think it was meant to be garlic and shallots but this didn’t come through. The indian naan bread that came with it was nice, but a Persian flatter bread would have been better \Ivory Persian Special [For 2 £37.00] - Same as the indian special, the lamb chops were pure meat! The chicken was juicy, the flat kebab a little dry and the other kobedas cooked nicely \Zereshk Polow & Chicken [£12.90] - A sweet taste, quite like rose and saffron providing that unusuality. A simple, unique dish that was really nice The sweetness for the end consisted of the list below. We were so full by this point that they gave us little tasters so we could see what they were like; \Gulab Jamun [£5] - Pure yum but imagine with a bit of ice cream, this would have been heavenly. The cardamom wasn’t overpowering at all, which was nice L\emon Cheesecake [£5.60] - A tangy, refreshing hit \Baklava [£7] - Pure sweet, syrupy baklava We’ll be back to try some more of the Persian goodies Recommended for: Curries, Indian, Persian Service: High Price: ££ Halal: Full Menu”

“I don't think they deliver, but it's worth collecting from as it's a very friendly, welcoming, nice place. I've ordered for pick up quite afew times and the food's ready not long after I arrive. This is a top Indian restaurant, I always order knowing the food will be top quality because they never let us down. It's always clean, it can get very busy during the bank holidays. There is parking at the back of Sainsbury's.”

I knew before I even tasted the food that it would be delicious because of her infectious warmth and personality as well as her clear passion for cooking and helping others in need in the community. “Called in 4 days ago when everywhere was snowed under and the roads were deadly with ice! The absolutely lovely landlady came rushing to the door and guided us into the warmth. She had one of the staff make a hot coffee for my husband free! I bought a lager and lime which was just perfect. While we were there two paramedics called in to use the toilets; and again, the landlady made them both a cup of coffee free of charge! What a lovely, down to earth lady! The other staff were friendly too. Really nice, traditional pub with wonderfully welcoming staff. Highly recommended! ☺️”

“Love this little gem, proper old fashioned pub w a snug & different seating areas. Pie & mash w gravy is a crowd pleaser, however they were out of peas on the day I visited. Great drinks selection: mulled wine, Robinson's ales (local brewery in Stockport).”

“Me and my son visited this lovely place. We dined in, we came for dinner, it was lovely. They have no tracksuit policy we didn't know of as we had come from Mansfied, Nottinghamshire to Manchester for a show at O2 Victoria Warehouse. My son had come in Moncler X Palm Angels tracksuit and was asked not to go in but luckily we stayed at a hotel nearby, only 5mins walk, so he went back and got changed to something else. The food was decent, it's lovely and cosy inside with great interior!”

“Adana kebab was great, both chilli and tzatziki dips were awesome. Ordered mixed grill, which was expertly cooked, lacked some salt for us but that’s authentic Turkish food. Baklava was soft. Everything was home made and great.”

“Had a lovely meal with my partner at this restaurant, staff were really friendly and attentive and the food was amazing, I liked the small dishes which allowed you to try a few different things than just getting one big plate of just one thing. “Great sports pub! The atmosphere is brilliant on a big match day. Flags up in the window, sport event board outside, bunting and plenty of choice for good viewing! The large projector and black out blinds make for a fab viewing experience. Best experience I’ve had so far. All the staff seemed welcoming and friendly. “Just visited for the first time since the new landladies took over, what a difference! Lovely atmosphere, fabulously friendly staff at the bar and the food was amazing. Mixed grill cooked perfectly for him, pie week special of the best cheese and onion pie for me. Both meals piping hot, freshly cooked, and the chips were perfect.
