Seafood lovers delight in Manchester

“Fantastic restaurant! Where do I start. I've been ordering delivery and going in sometimes for a couple of years now and it's always really tasty and friends and family I share it with always agree too. I have a friend who lives 15 miles away who's hooked on coming weekly, you can bring your own booze for a cheaper meal out. The staff are friendly... even my family from India who can cook and afford top class food themselves, loved it! Reccomend the Lamb Karahi, Tarka Daal, Begun (Aubergine) Bhaji, Prawn Puri and Garlic & Coriander Naan, in particular. Great food and great value. Feel lucky to have this "hidden gem" on my doorstep in Reddish :-) Thanks.”

“We decided to try Sokrates for our first restaurant meal out after having just moved to Sale from Birmingham. I have a soft spot for Greek food, but being vegetarians we have found in the past it can be difficult to find authentic and tasty veggie Greek food in the UK. At Sokrates we had a great experience. We ordered the vegetable moussaka which comes served with a small portion of Greek salad, and the four dip selection which comes with a basket of hot pitta bread. We decided to share the good between us The moussaka was a very generous portion and easily fed the two of us. The flavour was incredible. A lovely warmth from the traditional spicing of allspice, nutmeg, clove, and bayleaf. The dips were also very tasty, I especially enjoyed the beetroot skordalia. It had a wonderful glow of garlic. The interior is that of a homely traditional taverna, with plenty of tables of different sizes. The staff are friendly and generous.”

I have never had a meal here that has been less than sublime and at a reasonable price too! I could write a novel with the great things I have to say about La Scala but the proof is in the eating... Very affordable. Just truely a reliable establishment that seems to have really got the formula down for a successful fast food business. “Yesterday I went there for eating dinner, for eating my first meal in Manchester after a long trip, I ate my middle eastern food, it was good and tasty food, but their spoons and forks were plastic I hate it, and one another thing they use a type of spicy and put in every food, I don't like it, taste like Indian foods, however, have a clean place with respectful staff.”

“This place has excellent food. I think the flavors are incredible! I was a bit disappointed the last time I went to see they had removed some craft cocktails from the menu because in combination with the food it was awesome… but it’s still great even without the drinks. I strong recommend the Lamb Chops, they are very tasty, even if you aren’t big on Lamb, it’s very well flavored. Always get some garlic naan! And another favorite is the chicken tika! Parking can be tricky in the area but there is a paid parking lot right behind the Restaurant if you want to make it simpler :)”

“Happened to be in Wilmslow for a wedding at the weekend and found this place whilst wandering around for some dinner. Glad I found the place. I'm not a huge sushi fan but the choice for sashimi was quite vast. I chose the vegetarian gyoza. They looked great and tasted good too. They could have maybe been a bit crisper inside but it didn't deflect from the taste. I decided on the only ramen on the menu. It was as good as any I've had at chain ramen restaurants and a bit better. The decor is modern and the staff were all incredibly welcoming and efficient. A nice find.”
