“Called in 4 days ago when everywhere was snowed under and the roads were deadly with ice! The absolutely lovely landlady came rushing to the door and guided us into the warmth. She had one of the staff make a hot coffee for my husband free! I bought a lager and lime which was just perfect. While we were there two paramedics called in to use the toilets; and again, the landlady made them both a cup of coffee free of charge! What a lovely, down to earth lady! The other staff were friendly too. Really nice, traditional pub with wonderfully welcoming staff. Highly recommended! ☺️”

Definitely worth getting a membership if you go there a couple of times as you get this discounts am a number of things. Prices are for and the food offered is good quality too. “Great place to meet. Away from everything else next to the barge boats on the side if the canal and next to the Lime kilns. Has a function room for hire, pool table, snooker table and darts.”

“This is a lovely park, not massive but very well kept with a couple of car park options if driving to it. The park has a lake which can be walked round, and grassland which when we went had sheep and lambs wandering around. Its a nice area, if you are expecting a long walk however, you'll probably need somewhere much bigger - but great if you have small people or just need to take dog out for a stretch of the legs!”
