Relaxation atmosphere in Glossop

“After a recommendation from my daughter I booked The Cottage. What a wonderful find. Great place to stay so clean and comfortable. Lovely woodfire makes it so cosy. Accommodation is great. The bedroom is very comfortable and you can see the stars when in bed. There is also a single room with twin beds. The garden is lovely my two dogs loved it and I knew they were safe as it is well fenced. Lovely walks round the area. After my weeks stay I felt so relaxed and can't wait to go back. A great find.”

“I have read the review of James Hughes below. Thought I would add.. I was present when James entered the shop, helped himself to coffee without asking or being offered (I appreciate we’ve all been raised differently!) .. jumped the queue .. before announcing ‘the last barber messed my haircut up and I would like mine washing now’ .. I was in the seat near the window and I looked at the owner with an expression of ‘what the ***‘ absolutely amazed at his rudeness. Still.. they all treated him with respect. Amazed to see the review below ! I too have been going to this barbers since they opened. They are 100% top drawer. Absolutely professional, courteous and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. A credit to Glossop.”

“How these guys have such a low star rating is beyond me?? First time we tried them was Christmas Eve and it did take longer than expected to arrive, but it was Christmas Eve so that's understandable. Food arrived hot and was really delicious, they are so different to the other Chinese takeaways and restaurants around and definitely have their own flavour (spicy salt and pepper seasoning, but this is honestly great if you like that moreish spice level). Second time there was one item missing from our order (nothing major, just seaweed, but my partner loves it) and when I called they said they would be unable to come out as they were rammed. About 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door and they had taken the time to drive out and deliver a single box of seaweed (very happy girlfriend). It would be easy to see little faults and give a low rating, but the reason I rate so highly is because they make every effort to give the best service they can and they are obviously popular and busy, its just a shame more people aren't coming on to give these guys a good rating. If you're not sure about these guys because of the rating I say try them and you'll be pleasantly surprised, if you don't like it then maybe consider its just not your style rather than putting a one star rating, they have great food and they really put the effort in!”

“This is the best barbers in Glossop, I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Lee and the lads are all really good barbers, it doesn’t matter who cuts your hair it’s always to the best standard possible. Everyone at the shop is really nice and host an incredible atmosphere. I couldn’t recommend them enough!”

“Fabulous food and service, full restaurant with pretty much one waitress who did a sterling job and kept everyone happy, no delays prompt service. Outstanding food had 3 courses and all fabulous. Nutella crumble for dessert absolutely delicious! Will be back soon!”

“Called in 4 days ago when everywhere was snowed under and the roads were deadly with ice! The absolutely lovely landlady came rushing to the door and guided us into the warmth. She had one of the staff make a hot coffee for my husband free! I bought a lager and lime which was just perfect. While we were there two paramedics called in to use the toilets; and again, the landlady made them both a cup of coffee free of charge! What a lovely, down to earth lady! The other staff were friendly too. Really nice, traditional pub with wonderfully welcoming staff. Highly recommended! ☺️”

“We have visited The Hare and Hounds twice in the past week. Once on Sunday for lunch and on Tuesday night for quiz night. Both times we were made to feel very welcome. Food was good. Staff were friendly and there was a nice buzz about the place. The only slight downside is the toilet that is cold and needs decorating. Our dog Milo loved it too.”
