Swans Pool
● Open35 Higher Fence Road, Macclesfield SK10 1QF, United Kingdom“I like it here. A medium sized pond with a view up to the hills, on a quiet gravel road. Sometimes the cows come down to the water's edge, or the mist makes the whole scene gorgeous. Mallards, tufted ducks, coots, the occasional goosander, heron and kingfisher. Flocks of geese in the fields often. Swans nest here in the summer.”

RHS Garden Bridgewater
● Closed“We came to the dog walking evening on the 27th of June. We had wanted to visit the gardens since they opened but this gave us, and our furry friends, the ideal opportunity to explore. What a resounding success it seemed to be. We absolutely loved it and cannot wait for the next one in July. Everybody we spoke to said the same as us. The gardens themselves are beautiful and we all enjoyed exploring. It is a place that is ever changing and I would like to see it in the different seasons. I really hope the dog friendly evenings remain a regular thing.”

Astley Park
● OpenPark Road, Chorley PR7 1RF, United Kingdom“Fantastic park. Well-maintained, excellent facilities, onsite cafe & great wine/farm shop. Suitable for all ages. Woodland, open green spaces and a gorgeous lake with water fountain. This park has it all. Astley Hall is also a beautiful building and looks amazing after the refurb. We had a great night for the fireworks (pictures attached)...a little muddy under foot but that's expected after a wet week. A brilliant urban park.”

Strinesdale Country Park
● OpenOldham OL4 2JJ, United Kingdom“Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”

John Leigh Park
● Open37 Oldfield Road, Altrincham WA14 4EQ, United Kingdom“A great place to walk a dog. I've been going to john Leigh park since for ever. The path all round is a great little walk. It has two park areas for the kids. One for bigger kids then further round one for the younger kids which has a fence all around it. It has a small aviary. There are always loads of people there when it's a sunny day and the ice cream man parks up in it on warm days too. It has tennis courts/ football/ and basketball courts. It is a very popular place with dog walkers so not a place to go if petrified of dogs.”

Crowden Camping and Caravanning Club Site
● OpenWoodhead Road, Crowden, Glossop SK13 1HZ, United Kingdom“Friendly staff, plenty of slots for camping. Toilet and shower facilities were good and looked fairly recently refurbished. Only downside was that the road noise is extremely loud if you get placed at the bottom of the campsite, I’m sure it’s fine if you’re in a caravan but if you’re in a tent you’ll definitely hear it. Overall good experience and it’s well located for hikers and backpackers.”

There’s good old Fredericks ice cream at the centre with reasonably priced ice cream and deserts available, parks for the kids to play, plenty of space and smooth paths for kids (or adults) to roller skate/skateboard, and plenty of ducks, swans and geese (I think) to feed. Overall, a lovely little trip now the weathers getting better!”

-
Chorlton Green
● OpenWhitelow Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 9FQ, United Kingdom“I originally visited this place under its previous management for breakfast and ended up with overpriced and bland bubble & squeak, ineptly served and decided that was that. Given its new management sign I decided to give it a go, and was not disappointed at all. Being a vegetarian one is forced by circumstance to become something of a connoisseur of cheese sandwiches, and the vegetarian club sandwich here is pretty close to perfect, with the creaminess of a large chunk of cheddar being well offset by the sweetness of beetroot and tomato that actually taste of beetroot and tomato. The beer selection is small and orientated to German lager, but of a very good quality and dwarfed by the winelist, coupled with an extensive number of teas and coffee and soft drinks, even the non-alcoholics wont be lacking in options. The decor itself isn't particularly anything to talk about, but more than eclipsed by the quality of the food and the character of the staff. In fact the only negative thing I can say about the place is that the mobile signal is dire, which is of no fault of the bar itself.”
-
Abney Hall Park
● OpenAbney Hall, Cheadle SK8 2PD, United Kingdom“Nice compact nature park with paths forming a few circular walks. A few ponds and a small stream running through. Cafe near the car park. Wheelchair accessible path from the cafe to 'Roscoe's roundabout'. A few non wheel friendly paths criss crossing too. Popular for dog walking.”
