“Wow, please please please could the reception staff train all other reception staff how to be so respectful, polite and friendly. I was sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and heard time after time the staff being kind, courteous and caring. Their attitude meant that patients felt heard, understood and most importantly weren't made to feel like an inconvenience (as is often my experience at our local doctors). I really really hope their kind manner takes off and other places realise what a difference treating people as fellow human beings can make. Thank you.”

“Having had 2 pair of hearing aids in the past, I decided I did not want to pay £3000+ again and asked my gp to go NHS. My referral gave me two choices , I chose Beacon medical group. I was assessed within 2 weeks and fitted with new hearing aids a week later. As I said despite paying privately in the past I almost always had a level of irritation which never really went away and that was the biggest disincentive to wearing hearing aids ! The NHS audiologist was quite thorough and although only time will tell , my hearing aids were comfortable right from the start ! I would recommend the Beacon med. services and my audiologist to anyone .”

“Been with this practice for over 30 years. Dr Patel spotted a rare condition in my father that potentially saved his life. He also took immediate action for my mum which gave her an extra 19 years. He supported mums mental health after losing my sister. He has supported me medically through two children and various minor ailments and mentally through a marriage breakdown and work related stress. He also supported me with paperwork and a medical for fostering. Receptionists are obviously busy but always polite and helpful. I've never had a problem getting an appointment especially for urgent matters.”

“All GP practices are strained at the moment, and access to appointments and services has been a little slower and more difficult than anyone would like - however, I truly think that the team at City Health are a group of really lovely people who care about what they do. I have only accessed the centre via phone/online, as I haven’t requested any in-person appointments as of yet, so I can’t comment on the quality of in-centre service. However, I have had very positive experiences when using online and phone consults, and when requesting repeat prescriptions. Mike, the mental health nurse here, is an absolute credit to the team. He is incredibly personable, funny (when appropriate!), and has really taken time to listen to me discuss my symptoms and experience as a self-diagnosed autistic person. After my last practice messed up my formal autism diagnosis referral, Mike called me and took the time to explain the process and timeline for me, ensuring I understood exactly what the process would entail and assuring me City Health would pass on my referral to the appropriate service after my last GP practice messed it up. Lo and behold, just a couple of weeks later I received my letter in the post confirming my referral to our local autism service. Mike has also regularly checked in with me about my medication and how I’m doing in general. I have truly never felt more valued and listened to by a health professional as I have by Mike. Even in this really difficult time for healthcare professionals and nurses in particular, he is clear, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and will give you all the time in the world. He has been a massive help in my journey of realising in adulthood that I am likely autistic; without his knowledge and friendliness, I don’t think I would have been able to continue to pursue formal diagnosis due to negative experiences with other practices in the past. If you have any mental health concerns or want to request any referrals for neurological or psychological diagnostic services, I can highly recommend City Health. Let’s hope that the government begins to see the value in teams like this one and begins to give them the resources they need.”

“I attended Shuropody, Deansgate this morning for the Podiatry Clinic and was seen by Tembi. She was brilliant I had a big toe nail that was damaged and she managed to remove it with no pain and my feet feel marvelous. Also Rochelle downstairs in the shop could not have been nicer. “this is gonna be a long one :-) last week I suffered a really really bad case of severe back pain which would make even the strongest man cry and had to be rushed to the A&E at north manchester hospital, as a follow up i had to call my GP at neville yesterday and i do agree from 8am to 8:40 it took me 182 calls since the phone is constantly busy during that time BUT here comes the big BUT: I looked at all the bad reviews and must say most of them seem quite unfair ! yesterday i missed my call back ( who can jump to the phone with a injured back) and this morning i decided to go there myself . I came 15 mins early and when the practice opened ALL the reception lady's were friendly and helpful. I had to come back at 9:45 since the doctors were not in yet , and when i did ,my waiting time was only 15 minutes. I wish i could remember the Doctors name (tall black handsome guy :-) He get's 10 out of 10 from me ! I understand people with painful ailments are impatient and tend to take it out on Doctors and Nurses ! The Neville Family practice is a small enterprise and not NASA and i do believe they do the best they can !!!! I had two very friendly receptionists this morning and a great doctor who "listened" Thank you!! PS: i see Mike Neville is answering the reviews on here !? there is no need to comment on my review but if thats not to much to ask go ahead and shake the hands of all guys who worked in your practice this morning !!! “This has been my doctors since being a baby and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the staff at this surgery. I’ve been away at university in Leicester for 4 years and the service was appalling. All practices are overwhelmed and limited funding yet pennine medical centre manage this incredible well. The receptionists are polite and helpful and the doctors/nurses are super willing to help. Not had any issue with the practice ever! If you’re unhappy with service here I honestly suggest trying other doctors practices and you’ll soon realise how great this one is!”

“Shocking. I have previously left a good review because of Dr Hannan who is a brilliant doctor and this review has nothing to do with them. I went to my doctor 7 months ago about symptoms I have been experiencing which I have been worried about. I can’t remember exactly how long I waited for that appointment but I think it was about 6 weeks, I had a blood test and got results quickly. I had to have another blood test 3 months after. When I rang to book it the waiting time was 6 weeks. I’ve had to wait over 2 weeks for the results after the blood test and that’s because I had to contact them. Every time I phone I get told to phone back tomorrow. I have tried 5 or 6 times now. No one picks up on the line to call through to get results so I have to pick the appointments option and getting through is terrible. I’ve been with this surgery all my life but I am now going to change.”

I was over joyed that she was able to do that . I explained to the receptionist , my condition ,& was unable to use the machine to book in . She was most understanding . I get Teri anxious , if I. meet anybody new . I saw a lady doctor ( I am so sorry but cannot remember her name . The doctor was absolutely brilliant . Gave me time to explain my problem . “Going to the Doctors is never an enjoyable experience for me. In the past I have found that I feel a burden when I ever need to see someone. However, this is the first time I have been to this Surgery and I would like to say how lovely and friendly all the staff were. Dr Ahmed has to be the best Doctor I have seen in a long time. He really listened and didn't make me feel like I was wasting anyone's time. Highly recommend this place. Should I need to request an appointment in the future I would now not hesitate.”
