“Samson and Nala spent 5 months with Helen and Jan, we initially thought it would only be a few weeks until we bought our house. It was an emotional time being separated from our fur babies, Helen and Jan cared for us as well as our cats, we visited often and always had a cup of tea and a chat. The rooms are amazing with lots of toys to keep them stimulated, they changed rooms for a change of scenery, Samson has a history of having a sensitive stomach and was fed top quality food, their emotional needs were met with lots of daily cuddles, we were kept updated and any problems Helen would let us know. Helen and Jan have a genuine passion for cats, we were so happy with their care. The day we picked them up was emotional for all, Samson and Nala are now settled in our new house and we will always be so grateful for the love and care of our fur babies. Didn't get chance to try the ice cream parlour after my full English breakfast but shall do next time I'm in there! The staff were attentive and helpful. Beans not exactly to my liking, neither the method of serving tea, but for most people they would probably be OK. Excellent service by a happy, cheerful and well organized waitress. “Great pub, very welcoming lady at the bar, friendly patrons, no nonsense landlord. We were with our 7-month-old and had no problems to bring her in, as we visited during the afternoon. Ironically, I spent my secondary school days looking at this pub as we went by it on the school bus, and now I've finally been! Hooray!”
